Refund Policy

1. Renter-Initiated Cancellations
Refunds for a cancelled trip scale with how much notice you give before the trip start date. Standard season and peak season (December, Easter, and August) use different windows because vehicle demand — and an owner's ability to rebook — is higher during peak periods.
Standard season
- 60 or more days before the trip: 100% refund
- 30–59 days before the trip: 50% refund
- Under 30 days before the trip: no refund
Peak season (December, Easter, August)
- 90 or more days before the trip: 100% refund
- 60–89 days before the trip: 50% refund
- Under 60 days before the trip: no refund
2. Owner-Initiated Cancellations
If a vehicle owner cancels a confirmed booking, the renter always receives a 100% refund, regardless of how much notice was given. Owners are held to a strict three-strike accountability policy: a warning after the first cancellation, a final warning after the second, and automatic account suspension after the third.
3. Deposits and Payment Timing
A deposit is charged at the time of booking to confirm your reservation. The remaining rental balance is automatically charged 7 days before your trip start date. Roamkin supports Credit/Debit Card, PayPal, and localized Mobile Money and digital wallet payments.
4. How Refunds Are Processed
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method or Mobile Money wallet used for the booking. Processing times can vary depending on your card issuer, bank, or mobile money provider.
5. Damage Reports and Disputes
Every trip uses digital check-in and check-out photo submission. If a damage report is filed, any refund connected to that trip may be held pending review of the submitted evidence by our support team.
